Hayley was raised in Toronto, Canada and is currently based in Ottawa. She spent her childhood transferring Renaissance paintings, from Caravaggio to Botticelli, into pencil crayon studies and experimenting with calligraphy, all while watching Time Team, her favourite archaeology show. She went on to become a professional graphic designer, but her deep love of history and the romantic edges of the past stuck with her. 

Her pieces explore a romanticism of bygone eras where mythology carried civilizations.

She challenges herself to find the whimsy and storytelling  in modern life, casting a spotlight on contemporary subjects, all while seeking to explore the concept of nostalgia for something you've never experienced but where everything feels possible.
